Mali Yahalomi and her daughter Liel were located on a bus in Argentina, a week after they vanished in Vienna. Israeli police and Interpol officers boarded the bus to find them. They appeared confused by the situation and were unharmed.

The explanations circulating do not agree. Haaretz reported that they intended to disappear and begin a new life. Other Hebrew outlets reported that they were fleeing mounting debts in Israel. A senior police officer said that even now, and despite the questioning, the reason for their departure from the country is unclear.

This masthead reported on Thursday that shares in Bank of Jerusalem, where Mali Yahalomi worked, fell about 12 percent at their lowest before recovering to around 2 percent down, after social media claims linked the bank's money to the disappearance. The bank's chief executive Yair Kaplan said no connection had been found between the incident and the bank, and that a review identified nothing irregular involving its funds or assets.

Nothing published since changes that. Two people are alive and accounted for, no explanation has been established, and a listed bank lost a tenth of its value for a day on a claim that its own review did not support. The correction the share price made was faster than the correction the story has received.
